We installed a Lochinvar Shield Model SNR200-100 heater at our Sandusky Big Boy location and we are very happy with the unit. We chose the Shield because it generates a lot of hot water, is compact, quiet and saves us energy costs.

When the units in our other two stores need replacing, we will be contacting you regarding new Lochinvar units for Caro and Bad Axe.

We highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a new or replacement water heater.

In March 2009, The University of Western Ontario (London, Canada) under the direction of Ken Hill, Ron Humphrey, and Jeff Smith set out to find a solution to the ongoing issues they had been having with a domestic water heating system at one of their student residences, Lambton Hall.

They turned to Brian Bokor (of Mark Supply in London) who suggested that they look at the new SHIELD Commercial Water Heater offered by Lochinvar.

The idea of retrofitting the existing tank type water heaters with a condensing water heater that has a heat exchanger that is not submerged in the stored water became reality in April 2009 as UWO took possession of (3) SNA400-125 SHIELDS.

The units were installed by Besterd Mechanical of London, Ontario. The similar foot print of the SHIELD to the existing tank type heaters made it an ideal retrofit installation.
